The Spirit of Python
Here is my personal study on the subject:
Biblical Text: Acts 161:16–18 KJV:
16) And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination (literally translated in the Greek: spirit of Python) met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 17) The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. 18) And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
What is it…..? Let’s take a look in the natural realm of living among reptiles or if you will in this instance, the Python snake’s characteristics. Python – the most unique is this serpent. The python goes up to high places and waits for its prey to come, then suddenly drops on its victim (same as in spiritual wickedness in high places). Most snakes kill by striking and injecting poison but the Python has a subtle way of defeating its enemy:
It coils itself around the victim and squeezes slowly suffocating the prey - Very time the victim exhales, the Python tightens its grip, making it difficult for the victim to breath. - Spirit of Python gradually suffocates its victim by slowly choking the breath out of its prey !
The spirit of Python being a serpent snake comes to constrict the life and breathe out of your lungs. Being a serpent he only eats things which are alive, he particularly desires to eat those who are alive in Christ. His purpose is to squeeze the life of Christ out of us. He does this by taking away our joy, making us feel discouraged and heavy, stealing our faith, dreams, visions and stealing our spiritual alertness (causing one to be sleepy or unable to focus spiritual), therefore keeping us from doing what God wants us to do so we are ineffective and fruitless for the Kingdom of God. You feel like something has crept in and slowly but surely stole your zeal for praising and worshipping God, something is smothering you or hindering your ability to be alert in the Spirit, or you feel something is smothering your ability to prosper!!! You need to know that the war you are fighting in is taking place in the unseen world. Where even your close family and friends don’t understand what is happening to you. - Desires that were once there seem out of reach - Dreams have dried up - Financial opportunities have withered away - Something has choked out everything you were once excited about!
NOTE: The spirit of python’s main objective is to spiritually CONSTRICT!
Let’s look at the definition of the word Constrict.
1: to make narrow or draw together (b) : COMPRESS, SQUEEZE constrict a nerve
2: to stultify, stop, or cause to falter : INHIBIT intransitive senses : to become constricted Now that's what happens in the realm of the natural and that is the same thing that happens in the realm of the spirit. The Python Spirit constricts your mind, speaking and spirit from moving in the path that God has designed for you.
PHYSICAL SYPMTOMS OF THE SPIRIT OF PYTHON:It paralyzes you from speaking what's on your mind, it also works with the spirit of procrastination, laziness, fear, and stuttering just to name a few. It uses fear and intimidation to paralyze its victims…Physical Symptoms of the spirit of Python Leviathan shows itself sometimes with choking manifestations around the throat at night and is related to witchcraft which is rebellion. Some under this spirit’s attack can become short of breath too and feel as if they are being physically squeezed in their lungs, even experience a loss of energy. Further, one will at times feel that they are restricted from being themselves, or being free to express themselves. Usually in this case one feel suppressed or even intimidated to such a degree that they don’t feel safe to allow their true personality freedom, they don’t feel their personality is welcomed, they are being suffocated by domination. One can even feel he/she is finding their ability to prosper being squeezed (a sudden hindrance, a blocking or restriction to financial freedom and/or financial flourishing! And further; one may feel an unusual sense of slumber when its time pray or respond spiritually to anything! You feel fine until it’s time to read scripture or pray in the spirit (one then gets sleepy)!!! In addition to this, one may even feel his/her thoughts are cloudy – unable to think clearly! HOW DO WE GET RID OF THE SPIRIT OF PYTHON ?:
RECOMMENDATION:
Now, lets remember Deut. 33:27
INSTRUCTION: Three days prayer and fasting programme to unseat the strongman of python in charge of the Marriage, Work, House, Family, Finances, Prosperity etc. Strive to engage the everlasting arms of the Almighty God that upholds the whole universe, to overthrow the python spirit who has been terrorizing your life.
Isaiah 49:24-26: "Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the Lord, even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine. And all flesh shall know that I thy Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob."
It doesn't matter what door you opened to the enemy (the spirit of python) to allow him get a foothold in your life or family. The important thing is to close every door you've opened to the enemy through sin. Even if he is there legally, the Scriptures say he has to go! The first thing you have to do is to repent and ask for God's forgiveness. Once you are right with God, you are on the road to deliverance from the strongman (the spirit of python). These prayer points are designed to destroy every strongman in any area of your life by God’s Holy fire!
Matt. 12:29: Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and oil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
CONFESSIONS FOR FREEDOM & DELIVERANCE: Matt. 16:18: And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Psalm 113:5,7,8: Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on High, He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
Say these confessions out Loud with aggression and Godly indignation: God is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that He should spent of any of His pronouncements. Once has God spoken twice have I heard this that all power belongs to God. Therefore, I believe every word ' god, because the word is God Himself and if God cannot lie, every promise of God for my life will come to pass.
As I live and breathe, I make this confession, I declare to the devil that I am not ignorant of who I am in Christ; I am born again, I have been crucified with Christ and washed in HIS blood. Now I am seated with Him in heavenly places, I am a saint, I belong to God. Jesus bought me with His own precious and blameless blood and has translated my life from the kingdom of darkness into His kingdom of light; I have the grace of God and abundance of life.
I stand on the victory of Jesus over satan and over death and hell, for it is written, that Jesus first of all descended into the lower parts of the earth and stripped the devil off all his powers and ascended on high, leading captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. By this victory let any gathering the powers of darkness that is against my prayers be defeated by the blood of Jesus.
The day I wholeheartedly gave my life to Christ, I submitted myself to God. Therefore, satan, I have the authority to resist you and your attacks against my sound relationship with my Maker, Jehovah God. And through my faith in Jesus Christ, I have become a seed of Abraham. The blessings of Abraham are mine. The Scripture says I am blessed with the blessings of faithful Abraham. I am a partaker of all God's heavenly blessings. It is written, that God has blessed all His children with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places. The Lord God is a sun and shield, the Lord will give grace in glory. No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly, No good thing will He withhold from me and my family.
Warfare Deliverance Prayers & Decrees:
1. I destroy the power of every satanic arrest in my life, in the name of Jesus.
2. All satanic-arresting agents including the spirit of python, release me NOW, in the name of Jesus.
3. I command every spiritual contamination in my life to receive cleansing by the blood of Jesus.
4. Let the brush of the Lord scrub out every dirty containment in my spiritual pipe, in the name of Jesus.
5. I destroy everything that is representing me in the demonic world with the fire of God, in the name of Jesus.
6. Lord, teach me to die to self.
7. Every rusted spiritual pipe in my life that has received injury from python, receive wholeness, in the name of Jesus.
8. I command every power of darkness, eating up and smothering my Godly revelation to be roasted with the Fire of God, in the name of Jesus.
